He was 48.Houston cause of death is currently unknown, however, the singer has a long history with drug and alcohol abuse. According to TMZ, Houston was found dead at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
Six-time Grammy winner, Houston sold over 55 million albums in the United States and the 1987 album Whitney became the first album by a female artist to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. The most recent LP, I Look to You, was released in August 2009.

I am very very sad about this news. His eponymously titled 1985 album breakout is one of the first tape I ever had, and I used to listen to over and over again in my purple tape in my bedroom, dancing and singing along into my hairbrush.
When I was in high school choir, my good friend and I featuring Whitney Houston songs in Solo & Ensemble competition every year. We do not even remotely do it justice, but we just love her so much. Blub.
